Founded in 1983 we are headquartered in Wilmington, NC with offices Wilmington NC, Cary NC, Jacksonville NC, Fayetteville NC, and Greensboro NC.What You Will Be DoingThe Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for the comprehensive review and auditing of mortgage loan files for compliance with established internal policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
Identify and document when company standards, or any regulations, have not been followed and ensure that the loan files delivered within the required time frame are complete and accurate.-Select and request loan files for company quality review program.-Validate compliance of loans with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.-Validate compliance of loans with Fannie Mae and all other Investor requirements.-Review audit findings to determine additional research required to ensure accurate reporting of findings or to determine compliance with program.-Prepare or review various call center reports, forms, correspondence, e-mail messages, and logs-Review loan documents for any exceptions and follow up with appropriate area to clear exceptions-Ensure that final files are completed within defined timeframes, including all required disclosures.-Review case binders and validate complete packages provided to HUD or VA.-Audit 40 - 50 loans per week with a minimum of a 4% error margin.-Re-calculate monthly income and debt, income to debt ratios, loan-to-value ratios, and verify the borrower had sufficient funds to close with appropriate reserves.-Send required notification and verification letters.-Research specific files for quality or customer complaint history as needed or required.-Regularly review department workflows and compliance performance impacts.-Provide assistance to compliance auditors and external auditors as needed.-Perform other duties as assigned.What You Need for this PositionAt Least 2 Years of experience and knowledge of:-High school diploma or GED-A minimum of 2 years of mortgage loan audit experience-Experience and understanding of mortgage loan products-Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills-Analytical and general math skills-Ability to handle standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, scanner, etc.
