Public Health Nurse II
The Rutherford-Polk-McDowell District Health Department is accepting applications for a PHN II (Women's Health Coordinator) at our McDowell Health Department in Marion, NC. This position will coordinate quality health care and education to the maternity patients being served by the Health Department and to coordinate this care with other staff members to ensure inclusive health care throughout the pregnancy and continuity care after delivery. Develop and implement education components to be utilized for patient education and to provide a measure of quality control in the care and documentation of the patient. Coordinate patient care with other community agencies such as DSS, WIC, and hospital staff and to participate in all clinical duties as described in each program policy. This position also will be helping with Family Planning and making sure the client is educated and receives all required counselling on family planning issues. Other duties as defined in job description.
Minimum qualifications: ADN plus two (2) years of professional nursing experience including one (1) years in public health or BSN plus one (1) year of public health nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of N.C. and current CPR certification. Completion of PHASES or Introduction to Principles and Practices of Public Health and Public Health Nursing sponsored by DEHNR.
